I'm Nipuni Dissanayake
I’m a lifelong learner with a love for connecting ideas, people, and purpose. My journey weaves together my education, professional experiences, creative hobbies, and volunteer work, each of which shapes who I am today. I’m passionate about growth, whether it’s delivering meaningful projects, exploring new skills, or giving back to the community. Outside of work, you’ll often find me traveling, practicing self-care, and always seeking ways to nurture both my well-being and that of others.
Work Experience
I began my academic path without a clear plan to become a Business Analyst. Still, during my internship search, I discovered how naturally I gravitated toward roles that connect people, technology, and purpose. I realised I wanted to work beyond pure engineering and instead contribute where communication, problem-solving, and collaboration meet. That curiosity led me into business analysis, where I developed a strong foundation in requirements engineering, process improvement, and stakeholder management.
Every role since then has expanded my skills across agile delivery, digital transformation, and product development. Over the years, I grew from analysing business needs to shaping solutions, guiding teams, and aligning technology with strategy. Today, I work as a Software Product Manager, leading the development of user-centric, regulatory-driven systems and driving continuous improvement across our digital ecosystem.
I’m proud of the path I’ve taken, grateful for every challenge that shaped me, and motivated by the impact thoughtful technology can create. The future is always evolving, and I’m committed to embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and deliver meaningful results.

Education
Learning has always been an important part of my life, and my educational journey reflects both curiosity and commitment. I hold a Master’s degree in ICT in Business & Public Sector from Leiden University, where I also took part in the Leiden Leadership Program, mentored fellow students, and contributed to curriculum development. Before that, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in IT & Management at the University of Moratuwa, engaging in creative activities like drama and volunteering with AIESEC, which broadened my perspective as a leader. My school years at Ananda Balika Vidyalaya laid the foundation for my early years through academics, leadership roles, and extracurricular involvement. From speech and drama in primary school to thesis projects in university, each stage of my education has played a meaningful role in shaping who I am today, academically, professionally, and personally.
Volunteer Experience
Throughout my studies, I actively volunteered with several organizations that significantly enriched my life. While pursuing my bachelor's degree, I volunteered with AIESEC. After relocating to the Netherlands for my master's program, I took on the role of secretary for the ESN Leiden Cultural Committee in 2022. Additionally, I serve as an ambassador for the Study in NL program and currently volunteer as a Career Ambassador. These experiences have been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for the wonderful people I have met and the lasting memories I have created.
My Interests
For body, mind & soul! I recognise the importance of striking a balance between work and life. That’s why when I’m not working, you’ll find me indulging in some of my favourite things.
