"I do not want to be a teacher. I want to be a guide - a facilitator of what I am still learning myself."
I am Nipuni
This is my story
I am originally from Sri Lanka, and in 2021, I came to live in the Netherlands with two suitcases and a quiet determination to build something meaningful.
By profession, I work in product management. By practice, I am a student of mindfulness. By nature, I am a seeker of stillness amid a very full life.
Soulful with Nipuni is where those two worlds meet.
— About Me
— The Inner Journey
Before this was a space,
it was a practice.
My journey to mindfulness wasn't sparked by a book or a course. It came from necessity. Growing up in Sri Lanka, Buddhism wasn't something I actively chose—it was like the water I grew up swimming in. It was only by facing dark times, leaving home, crossing oceans, and experiencing the particular loneliness of starting fresh somewhere new that I truly began to understand the profound support it had always offered me.
For the past several years, I have been developing a daily inner practice that includes meditation, journaling, and a gradual exploration of Theravada Buddhist philosophy and Stoicism. I approach this not as a form of spiritual performance but as a quiet and consistent way to deepen my self-awareness. I engage in these practices because they truly work for me. More than once, they have helped me stay grounded when nothing else seemed to.
"I am not a teacher. I am a fellow traveller - someone who has been walking this path long enough to have something honest to share."
Soulful with Nipuni is built on that honesty. Not expertise, not credentials, not a polished transformation story. Just lived experience, offered carefully, in the hope that something here might be useful to you too.
— A few things about me
Not a biography.
Just the parts that matter.
Where I come from
I grew up Buddhist in Sri Lanka. It was never a belief I adopted; it was simply how life was understood in my family and community. That foundation is the root of everything here.
The work
I work as a product manager - a role that asks for clarity, systems thinking, and deep listening to what people actually need. More useful in mindfulness work than I expected.
The practice
I have been meditating every day since 2018. The journaling, the reflection, the rituals -- those ebb and flow with life. But the meditation has held. That steadiness is what taught me what continuity actually means.
Still learning
I am currently working on myself - through daily practice, through reading, and through the kind of honest inner work that does not always look like progress from the outside.
